Refund and Deferral Policy – Gatineau Triathlon
1. No Refunds
No refund requests will be accepted, except in the cases specified below.
2. Exceptions to the Refund Policy
A. Refund or Deferral for Medical Reasons
In the case of medical reasons, participants may choose between the following options, upon providing official medical proof no later than four (4) weeks prior to the event, by June 7, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.:
Deferral to a transferable future edition: A gift certificate equal to the value of the registration fees (excluding Triathlon Québec fees and transaction fees) will be issued. This certificate can be applied to a future edition of the Gatineau Triathlon and is transferable to another person.
Refund of 75% of the registration fees (excluding Triathlon Québec fees and transaction fees, which are non-refundable).
After this date: No refunds or deferrals will be granted, and no exceptions will be made.
Procedure: Requests must be sent to inscription@triathlongatineau.ca, accompanied by official medical proof.
B. Modification of Events Due to Poor Water Quality in Lac Leamy
If the water quality in Lac Leamy does not meet safety standards, triathlon events will be converted into duathlons (run – bike – run), and the aquathlon will be canceled.
A full refund will be offered for the aquathlon in the event of cancellation.
C. Cancellation or Modification of the Event Due to Force Majeure
In the case of force majeure (e.g., extreme weather conditions, earthquake, fire, riot, etc.), no refunds will be granted. The event may be canceled or modified depending on the circumstances.
D. Course Modifications to Ensure Safety
Participant Safety: The course and event distances may be adjusted at any time to ensure participant safety, particularly in the event of extreme weather conditions or other risks identified before or during the event.
No refunds will be offered in the case of course modifications for safety reasons.
